TensorFlowベースの機械学習モデルの学習/予測のためにGoogleが作ったASICのTPUがCloud TPUハードウェアアクセラレーションとしてベータで使えるようになった。
ついにユーザもTPUが使えるようになりましたね。カスタムタイプのインスタンスから使えるそうです。今はリンクページにあるフォームからQuotaをリクエストする必要があります。

New Google Compute Engine machine type
The n1-megamem-96 machine type is now available in open beta. Customers can run compute and memory-intensive workloads with 96 virtual CPUs and 1.4 TB of memory on a single virtual machine.
オープンβとしてn1-megamem-96というマシンタイプが利用可能。カスタマーはメモリが必要なワークロードを96仮想CPUと1.4TBのメモリを持つ単一の仮想マシンで処理できる。

The GKE metadata concealment feature, now in beta, enables you to protect potentially sensitive system metadata from user workloads running on your cluster.
ベータ版のGKEのメタデータ隠蔽機能により、クラスタ上で実行されているユーザワークロードから潜在的に機密性の高いシステムメタデータを保護することができる。
Pod内からGCEインスタンスのメタデータ取得を防ぐ機能みたいですね。Kubernetes 1.9.3以上で使えます。

キーリングの作成時にロケーションとして、今まではasia-southeast1やus-central1といったリージョンが選択できましたが、asiaやusといったマルチリージョナルなロケーションを選択できるようになりました。

データ局所性の向上と地理的分散を改善するためにCloud DataflowジョブにDataflowリージョナルエンドポイントが利用できる。現在、us-central1、us-east1、us-west1、europe-west1、asia-east1、asia-northeast1でGA。
以前からDataflowのPipelineOptionsにsetRegionメソッドがありましたが、それが機能するようになるのかな。

Track who did what, where, and when with Cloud Pub/Sub reporting audit logs, now in beta. Subscription, topic lifecycle, and information retrieval events can be configured to generate audit logs.
β版としてCloud Pub/Subは誰が何をどこでいつやったかを監査ログに記録する。SubscriptionやTopicのライフサイクルや情報取得のイベントが監査ログに記録される。
